KENTON - The Ada boys golf team defeated county foe Ridgemont at the Kenton Golf Course Wednesday to earn their first victory of the young season.
The Bulldogs beat the Gophers 247-259 in a tight dual match.
"It's very nice to get a win early in the season," said Ada head coach Jason Campbell. "It will help make practice better and more fun; you have to enjoy the wins when you get them."
Ada was led by junior Jake Colwell, who shot a career-best 57 over nine holes to take third individually in the dual match.
