ReStore Community Center turns 10 this fall. A celebration is set during the Tuesday, Nov. 1, crockpot meal at the center. One of the biggest transitions for a college student is the graduation to the “real-world.”
It can come with many questions and concerns because, as a graduate, they are no longer in the proverbial “Kansas” anymore. Navigating through job responsibilities in a career can look starkly different compared to the coursework of a college major.
Earlier this school year the Icon visited Ready, Set, Grow Preschool and watched students learning to write letters of the alphabet. Here's a view from that experience.
Ada council's safety committee will continue a discussion of village ordinances concerning dogs at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Ada depot.
According to a news items on the Village of Ada Facebook:
"This is an open meeting and all people are welcome. As has been the custom (except at the opening meeting of this discussion) no dogs will be admitted to the building."
Following the safety committee meeting, Ada council will meet. Council's meeting will start no earlier than 7 p.m.
The Ohio Northern University Symphony Orchestra will present the concert, “Pines and Mountains,” at 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is presented by the ONU Department of Music.
Music Director Travis Jürgens will conduct the ONU Symphony Orchestra for the concert, which will open with music from “Jurassic Park” by John Williams, followed by composer Jeff Midkiff’s “Mandolin Concerto.” The composer is also the guest soloist for this piece.
BLUFFTON - The visiting Ada volleyball team swept Bluffton Tuesday night in a Northwest Conference match to record their 11th victory over the last 12 matches.
The 25-11, 25-15, 25-22 win improved the Lady Bulldog record to 14-6 overall and 6-0 in the NWC, tied for tops in the league with Columbus Grove. Meanwhile, Bluffton fell to 1-3 in the NWC with the loss.
Ada middle blocker/hitter Melina Woods knocked down 28 kills, made five digs, came up with two blocks and served an ace to pace the victors.
