Youth of the Ada United Methodist Church are participating in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse headed by Franklin Graham.

Toys, school supplies and other items are sent to needy children throughout the world.

Many Ada High School athletes excel on the sports field and in the classroom.

Jim Raabe, Northwest Conference commissioner, has released the list of NWC scholar athletes for the fall season.

Scholar athletes are determined as follows:
•  Must be a letter winner in their sport.
•  Gold level -- GPA of 3.5 or higher during the season of their sport.
•  Silver level -- GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 during the season of their sport.

There's lots of Christmas trees in Ada this year. You'll find this one at Community Health Professionals. It is a collection point for hats, mittens, socks and underware. These are donated to children in need in Hardin and Allen Counties. Donations are accepted until Dec. 31.
