Ada's latest news

FROM FACEBOOK__Hardin County Historical Museums is excited to host its first-ever fundraiser of this kind — the Back to 80s Social! The event will take place on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at 223 N Main St, Kenton.

We’re bringing out some rad pieces of 1980s technology—like this classic Canon word processor—to help set the scene for a night celebrating the decade of neon, big hair, and arcade games. Before laptops were everywhere, machines like this were how many people wrote letters, reports, and stories!

Join us for a fun night filled with 80s attire, arcade games, and music trivia that will test how well you really remember the decade.

The downtown Ada building destroyed by fire at 125 and 127 S. Main on February 2, formerly occupied by The Cask Room and Viva Maria restaurant, is being cleaned up following proceedings initiated by the Village of Ada.

At the March 3 Village council meeting, Village Administrator Amanda Sears explained that the Village was allowed to make the location safe. Therefore, the Village contracted with John Amburgey to have the front wall knocked down and a fence put up around the site.

The property owner, Wyndham Enterprises Ltd. of Ada, subsequently contracted with Amburgey to complete the cleanup.

Like it or not, Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 8. That will be the last time British Columbia makes the switch. According to CBC News, the Canadian province has adopted permanent Daylight Savings Time.
