Bulldog boys bury Ridgemont

ADA - The homestanding Ada baseball team crushed county rival Ridgemont 12-2 in a run-rule shortened, non-conference mismatch Friday evening.
Ada's record improved to 3-5 overall with the win. Ridgemont dropped to 3-5 with the defeat.
The Bulldogs led 2-1 after the opening frame. Ada tacked on five more runs to build their lead to 7-1 after four innings. Speedy senior Jacob Poling scored the seventh run after scoring from second base on an infield hit and error.
Ridgemont scored a run in the top of the fifth. With two out, an error, stolen base and a bloop single to left field brought home the second Gopher run.
A throwing error extended the inning, but Ada got out of a jam without more damage on a fly out to center field.
In the home fifth, Ada responded with five runs to finish the contest. Cameron Bober led off with a double to the right-center field gap. Jacob Sutherly singled to right, plating Bober for an 8-2 margin.
Spencer Wall legged out an infield single to shortstop. A wild pitch and a passed ball tacked on two more runs as Devon Cole drew a walk.
Jacob Morgan beat out a well-placed bunt and Poling reached on an error by the first baseman. After a pickoff at second base, Poling swiped second base. Morgan stole his way around to third base.
Junior Tyler Jameson sliced an RBI single to left field to score the final run and balloon the margin to 10, ending the contest.
Ada sophomore Roman Snyder earned his second pitching win of the season with a complete game. He struck out six Gophers in five innings.
Poling led Ada with three hits and three runs. Morgan contributed two hits and a a pair of runs. Bober smacked two doubles and added a single.
Sutherly collected two singles.
Ridgemont got out-hit by the Bulldogs, 13-6. Both teams committed one error. Losing pitcher Mason Stuck, a 6-5 junior, singled in the third inning but was stranded.

Ada boys clawed by Jeff-Cats
DELPHOS - The visiting Ada baseball squad lost 12-2 at Delphos Jefferson in Northwest Conference action Monday evening.
Ada's record fell to 5-6 and 1-3 in the NWC with the defeat which snapped their three-game win streak. DJ improved to 7-7 (2-1 NWC) with the victory.
Wildcat hurler Logan Gallmeier earned the pitching win with four innings of two-hit baseball. He struck out three and walked one Bulldog. Gallmeier aided his own cause at the plate with two hits, two runs scored and a run batted in.
DJ's Jacob Simmons tripled twice, scored three runs and drove in one. Jaden Lucas contributed two hits, one RBI and one run.

Ada is slated to host former NWC foe Lima Central Catholic Thursday, April 22. Kalida knocked off LCC 6-1 Monday.
