On April 7 Ada Area Chamber of Commerce board meet in person for the first time since last winter, taking action on several chamber and community-related activities.

Two programs with traditional chamber support return to the community calendar this year, following a covid-19 off year.

The Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 28. The first meeting of the planning committee met this week. Watch the Icon for details as they are announced.

The chamber’s Harvest and Herb Festival will again take place, after a year off.

The festival is on the third Saturday of September, which is Sept. 18 this year. Booth prices will remain unchanged from 2019. A planning committee meeting will take place soon with additional details and booth registration information coming.

The board voted to hold an in-person chamber member meeting on Wednesday, April 21. It will be held in Beatitudes, with masks required and social distancing in place. This is the first chamber monthly meeting in person since last winter. Additional meeting details are coming.

The board voted to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, sponsoring books for two Hardin County youth over the next 12 months.

Also, the board also voted to continue to provide financial support for the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s patriotic pops concert held close to July 4 on the ONU campus.

The chamber will also provide financial support of the Ada railroad depot park. The village is currently inviting community groups and individuals to assist in supporting the park.
