Bulldog boys stifled by Wildcats

ADA - The homestanding Ada baseball team lost a 4-1 pitcher's duel to visiting Hardin County rival Kenton on a windy Saturday afternoon at the park diamond.
The Bulldogs fell to 5-10 following the loss. Kenton improved to 4-10 with the win.
The Wildcats scored three runs in the second inning, and tacked on one more in the fourth to build a 4-0 lead.
Ada was scoreless until the seventh. An RBI double by Jacob Morgan over the center fielder's head scored Spencer Wall. But Kenton recovered to finish the game without allowing another run.
Ada almost scored in the fifth when a two-out, infield pop-up fell in along the third base line. But Kenton was able to field it and tag out the Bulldog runner trying to score from second on the odd play.
Morgan doubled in a run and walked twice to pace Ada. Jake Poling contributed a hit and a walk.
Cameron Bober and Tyler Jameson each stroked a hit. Wall got a hit and scored the lone Ada run.
Ennis allowed just three hits on the mound for Ada. The Bulldogs out-hit Kenton, 5-3.
Kyle Thrush earned the pitching win for Kenton. He struck out three and allowed just one earned run and five hits in 4 1/3 innings.
The seven Ada seniors were recognized on Senior Day: Morgan, Poling, Bober, Trent Ennis, Devon Cole, Monty Sheldon and Cody Johnston.
