John Lomax, retired professor of history at Ohio Northern University, told Ada Kiwanis members that “Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech at ONU in 1968 was a watershed moment in the life of the university as well as his work in leading the civil rights movement.”
King spoke at ONU on Jan. 11, 1968.
Lomax was the Kiwanis Club’s guest on Jan. 22. He said that King’s talk occurred in the midst of his ‘poor people’s campaign’ and was at the beginning of Dr. King talking against the Vietnam War.
Ohio Northern University is launching an esports (electronic sports) program in fall 2019.
This initiative continues ONU’s emphasis on offering students well-rounded, high-impact learning experiences that allow them to pursue both their professional and personal areas of interest.
Esports will continue that focus in much the same way students have opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities such as intercollegiate and intramural athletics, the arts, and other pursuits that add to the richness of the college experience, expand students’ horizons and provide opportunities to interact with other students who have similar interests.

You still have time to contribute to your traditional and Roth IRAs for 2018

Contributing to your IRA is a wonderful way to save for your future. You still have time to contribute to your traditional and Roth IRAs for the 2018 tax year; even though we have already begun 2019.
Using an IRA, whether it is a traditional or Roth, gives investors the opportunity for tax-deferred growth during the accumulation phase.
For many, the accumulation phase is from the time they start earning income from a job or career to the time they retire from the workforce.
