Brock Martin receives all-district academic honors
Ohio Northern junior All-American Brock Martin (Attica/Seneca East) was named First Team Academic All-District 7 in football by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and Second-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early July.
Martin was named Second Team All-America as an all-purpose player in 2019. He has also earned All-Region honors and is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree. Martin has also earned Academic All-OAC honors twice in his career.
He has started all 24 games in his time at ONU and has been featured as a running back, receiver, full back and tight end and as a kickoff returner in his career.
Martin ranks 23rd all-time in ONU history with 1,234 career rushing yards in 14 games as a starter in the backfield.
He has also caught 13 passes for 135 yards, returned 29 kickoffs for 579 yards and has 1,948 all-purpose yards in his career.
This season, Martin was third in the OAC with 317 rushing yards and an average of 79.3 rushing yards per game.
The Polar Bears posted a 3-1 record and finished second in the Ohio Athletic Conference West Division with a 3-1 record in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season this spring.
