ONU Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) finished 139th out of 293 runners at the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 20, at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY.

Though she didn't finish among the top 40 as an All-American, Pitcovich stood in even more rarefied air after the race, earning the NCAA Elite 90 award for Division III women's cross country.

The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy, 511 W Lincoln Ave, Ada, reminds families that they need to make an appointment for COVID-19 vaccinations on campus for children ages 5-11.

Parents can sign up their child to receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID vaccine by going to https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/. If you do not see available appointments, please check back the next day. Appointments are posted two weeks ahead of time.

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 125 S Johnson St, released this reminder: there will not be a community meal in November. The event will resume in December.

New Ada varsity head coach Vince Halliday realizes the challenges inherent to rebuilding the Ada boys basketball program.

Three lettermen and one full-time starter return from a Bulldog team that finished 3-19 overall as they dropped seven close games. Ada also went 1-7 in Northwest Conference play.

Halliday served as the head girls varsity coach at Lima Senior for the past 14 seasons, compiling the most wins in program history (161) at a slightly-above .500 clip. 

"I will be the third head coach in three years for the seniors, so I told the group they all have a clean slate to start out with me," noted Halliday after he was hired.
