On November 15, the Ada Schools winter sports teams practiced striking a pose for their official photos and the local media. Visit the school's athletics web page for ticket and schedule information.

On the right side of the Ada Post Office entrance at 131 S. Main St., is a reminder of the Cold War: an (originally black and yellow) fallout shelter sign. It has historic rather than practical significance. The Icon was told that the shelter room is now used for storage.

Reuters news service reported in 2017 that “FEMA does not have a position regarding the signs and does not maintain lists of the old shelter locations.”

 

Ada resident and bodybuilder Lacey Fisher competed for the first time at the NPC Natural Indianapolis competition on November 13. She earned 1st place in the Open Class, Runner up in Class B and earned a position on stage for the Miss Indianapolis Bikini where she was runner up.

Fisher graduated from Ada High School and trains at One More gym, 125 E Buckeye Ave, Ada.

The Village of Ada has posted a packet for the Regular Council Meeting to be held at 6:30 p.m. on November 16 in the Village Hall council chambers, 115 West Buckeye Ave. The packet includes the meeting agenda and minutes from the Nov. 2 council meeting.

Council meetings can be joined online via https://teams.live.com/meet/93507018157446. Village of Ada Regular Council Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month at 6:30 pm. 

The 11th annual Bendekovic Bowl may have been the most exciting in the series.

There were three touchdowns scored in the game's final 1:45, including the game-winner with just eight seconds left as Heidelberg edged Ohio Northern 33-32 on Saturday afternoon, Novembrer 13, at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears end their season 4-6 overall and finished 3-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes end their season at 8-2, 7-2.

Senior Brody Hahn (Louisville) threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to junior Jette Morgan (Wooster) with 45 seconds left to give ONU a 33-28 lead.
