The creative process was discussed at a booksigning and talk by Lynne Scott (center), author of five books in the past eight years.

Lynne, from near Ada, meets with sisters Amy Eddings (left), a journalist from New York City, who recently moved to Ada with her husband Mark, and Melissa Eddings, who is on the art faculty at Ohio Northern University.

Lynne described her books as having likeable, believable characters that express hope. Her next book will be about a dog trainer.

Matt the Juggler performed before a large crowd of kids on Monday at Community Health Professionals. What's his "day job" to put food on the table? Matt, from Columbus, is so successful in entertaining children with his juggling show that his outgoing personality and talent have made performing his full-time work. (Monty Siekerman)

Friends of the Alger Public Library (FrAPL) led the first of three children’s programs at McGuffey Church of Christ and Roundhead United Methodist Church last week.

A total of 12 participants enjoyed the theme of Super Heroes by choosing capes and making masks, participating in a dramatic story, getting their photos taken as they flew over the city, playing corn hole and topping it all off with a Coke float. 

The next meeting is at the McGuffey Church of Christ from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30 and July 7, and inRoundhead at the United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to noon on July 3 and 10.

Several members of the Hardin County 4H Dog Bowl Senior Quiz Team earned impressive individual awards.  Second place, second from left, Adeline Moore (Hardin Hi-Lighters) and tenth place, far right, Ruth Anne Osborne (Pawsitive Attitudes).  State competition took place in Columbus at The Ohio State University 4H Center.
