Community Days at Elder-Beerman, Lima Mall, supports the Ada Visiting Nurses this year.
This year's event is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27 and 28.

Judge John P. O'Donnell, 2016 Democratic candidate for Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, will be the keynote speaker for the Hardin County Democrats Presidents' Day Luncheon Saturday, Feb. 28, at noon at the Walnut Grove First United Methodist Church north of Kenton on State Route 68.

Judge O'Donnell was first elected to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in 2002. He was reelected in 2006 and 2012. The Cuyahoga County Court is one of Ohio's busiest courts. He has presided over scores of jury trials in felony criminal cases and civil lawsuits.

Deb Curlis, Richard Gainey, Jane Helser judge the 20 desserts at the Ada Public Library on Friday. The Ada Public Library third annual Valentines Chocolate Bake-Off at the Ada Public Library was a grand success with 20 entries and more than 50 tasters enjoying scrumptious desserts. Young bakers showed their cooking ability. Two fifth graders from the Ada Schools took first and second place: Paige Jochims, first, with chocolate peanut butter dessert, and Sandra Litton, second, with chocolate strawberry pie.
