The Ada Rotary Club is reminding the community that World Polio Day is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates and all who want a world free from polio to come together. For more information, visit https://endpolio.org/

Garry L. Simon, age 82, of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at his residence in Ada. 

He was born on December 12, 1940, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Harry D. and Dorothy Irene (Geiger) Simon. On December 28, 1981 Garry married Mary M. Castle and she survives in Ada. 

The Ada Youth Wrestling Club will conduct sign-ups on Tuesday, October 24, Wednesday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 30 at the Ada Park Building, which is located at the park entrance at the corner of Simon and Park Dr. Sign-ups will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. 

St. Mark Lutheran will be hosting a Community Meal on Wednesday, October 25 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Lincoln and Johnson streets in Ada. 

The meal is Free and opened to the community.  As always, you may dine in, carry out, or drive up for curbside service. The October menu is chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, fruit, and cookie. 

Organizers note, "Last month we served over 140 meals and this month we look forward to serving you.  See you there."

The Ada High School football team placed four players on the All-Northwest Conference teams in voting conducted Sunday, October 22, by the league coaches.

Junior tackle Dalton Amos was voted second team All-NWC defense. He was one of the team’s top tacklers and led the Bulldogs in sacks.

Ada junior quarterback Levi Green earned honorable mention notice despite being hampered by injuries much of the season. He threw for 663 yards and rushed for 680 yards with seven touchdowns. Green led NWC quarterbacks in rushing yardage.

Senior lineman Owen Arnett was named honorable mention all-league on offense.

Ada junior placekicker Logan Jolliff was named honorable mention all-league at the specialist position. He scored 30 points on extra points and field goals this season.
