Terry Swaney owned Swaney Oldsmobile/Nissan, Lima
On Wednesday, June 3, 2021, Terry Lee Swaney, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 74.
Terry was born on Aug. 22, 1946, in Harrod, to the late Donald and Donna Swaney. He was a United States Air Force (USAF) and Vietnam veteran. He was a brilliant and successful businessman and owner of Terry Swaney Oldsmobile/ Nissan in Lima.
Terry met the love of his life when she backed her car into his at San Angelo State College. On Aug. 17, 1968, he married Martha Jane Martin in the base chapel at Goodfellow AFB and she survives in Ada. Together, they raised three children, Stephanie (Michael) Edmondson, Ryan (Tarah) Swaney, and Chad (Tara) Swaney.
Terry was a success in every aspect of the word, however; his genuine love for everyone and giving spirit are what will be remembered most. “Never judge and always love” was his mantra. He positively impacted his employees and local community, but more than all this, he was a perfect role model for his children and grandchildren. Terry loved his family fiercely and lived for the precious moments with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are his brother Mike (Pam) Swaney, his two sisters, Linda (Raymond-dec.) Allen and Vickie (Mike) Hawkins, nine grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Alexis, Makenna, Zack, Zachary, Seth, Ethan Jack, and Brock, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. The memorial service for Terry will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to. 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45810 for the benevolence of the family.
