MT. BLANCHARD – The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team tied rival Riverdale 0-0 in a chippy North Central Ohio Soccer Association match on a rain-soaked Falcon Field on Wednesday night, Sept. 16.
Ada ran its record to 7-1-2 overall and 0-1-1 in NCOSA play with the result.
The Falcons are 3-4-3 and 0-0-2 in the NCOSA after their second league tie.
“Despite a tie being the outcome, I think we played as hard as can be expected,” said Ada head coach Doug Dewese. ”We had a weather delay, poor field conditions and a hostile crowd.

The game was scoreless for the first 75 minutes. Falcon Cameron Snook scored the lone goal with about five minutes left via an assist by Osvaldo Hernandez, and the hosts held on for the win.
Ada dropped to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in NCOSA play with the defeat.
The Falcons improved to 3-4-1 overall and 1-2 in the NCOSA after the clean sheet win.
MEDIA RELEASE__Jessica Weyer Bentley, a resident of Roundhead and an employee at Ohio Northern University, has published her third book. It is a chapbook of poems titled "As My Father Lay Dying". The work is published by Finishing Line Press.
Bentley's first collection of poetry, "Crimson Sunshine", was published in May 2020 by AlyBlue Media. Her second book of poetry, "Down Below Where the Canary Sings", was published in May 2023 by Sage Owl Publishing.
MT. BLANCHARD__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team won the last two games to beat Blanchard Valley Conference foe Riverdale in four sets on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Ada improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the BVC with the 25-14, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22 road win.
Riverdale fell to 2-7 and 0-2 in the BVC after the home defeat.
“Dailah Preston led us in kills and was really aggressive at the net,” said Ada head coach Kylie Murphy. “She was ready to take care of the ball when we needed her to.
The Village of Ada Council met in regular session on September 15. The meeting was conducted by Mayor Dave Retterer with all council members present. The meeting packet is here.
PUBLIC FORUM
Ada resident Kevin Wagner addressed council regarding a video recording of a complaint about him. Wagner expressed concern about the video's existence and questioned the village's retention policy, specifically highlighting a five-day retention window. He urged the council and administration to change their ways.
