The August 4 Ada council meeting was conducted by Mayor Dave Retterer with all council members present. The meeting included a continuation of discussion about pedestrian safety at Turner and West streets. Chief Alec Cooper reported that $2,000 was raised to support Ada's first National Night Out celebration on August 5. The council packet is here.

King-size prize: Raffle tickets on sale for America 250 quilt made by BSAQ

On the first Monday of August, some 20 quilters gathered at the Bluffton Senior Center for show and tell, a "Quilting on the Edge" demonstration and snacks.

The Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters meet 10 out of 12 months to share their love of fabrics, design and creativity. This month, members displayed results from a three-crayon challenge: make a quilt (small or large) using random colors drawn from a bag of crayons.
