MEDIA RELEASE__OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital will offer special hours for lung cancer screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 14, to help people at increased risk of lung cancer access early detection.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. Early detection offers the best chance for successful treatment, making regular screening an important tool for people at increased risk.
Lung cancer screening is recommended for adults ages 50 to 80 who currently smoke or formerly smoked and have a smoking history of at least 20 pack-years. A pack-year is the equivalent of smoking one pack of cigarettes daily for one year.
Work will continue at the Wilson Sporting Goods factory on Monday, October 19, following a 7-day extension of the contract that expired on Friday.
According to Derek Gibson, president of Local 1385 of the Workers United Chicago and Midwest Joint Board, Wilson management has agreed to meet with union representatives on Wednesday, October 21.
Workers will continue to picket on lunch breaks until an agreement is reached. Sticking points in the negotiations are wages and healthcare.
