Grace Honigford earns third OAC Women's Golfer of the Week honor
Ohio Northern sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Oct. 19-25.
This is the third OAC Golfer of the Week accolade for Honigford this season and fifth such honor of her career.
On Monday, Honigford fired an 8-over-par 80 to stand tied for 24th of 97 golfers after the first round of the Berry (Ga.) Invitational at the Coosa Country Club.
She took a quadruple-bogey 9 on the second hole and responded by going 1-under par for her next five holes and shot 4-over par over the final 16 holes.
After carding a solid 332 on Monday, ONU entered the final round of play on Tuesday sitting in a tie for eighth place of 17 teams in the tournament, which features three nationally-ranked Division-III teams and several Division-II teams.
The Berry (Ga.) Invitational marked the conclusion of ONU's fall schedule.
The Polar Bears' spring schedule will be announced later this winter.
