Lady Bulldogs blanked by Cory in soccer sectionals
The Ada girls soccer team lost 7-0 at Cory-Rawson in Div. III sectional tournament first round play Tuesday evening, October 19.
The Lady Bulldogs end their season 2-12-1 after the defeat.
Eighth-seeded C-R improved to 5-10-1 with the shutout win. The Hornet girls advance to the second round at top-seeded Liberty-Benton October 21 at 6 p.m.
The Hornets led 3-0 at halftime, and tallied four more scores after intermission.
"Of course, it isn't the result you want at the end of the day," said second-year Ada head coach A.J. Wahlie. "But I am so proud of this group. I will never forget this season, this group, and all of the adversity that we were able to overcome.
"Thank you to our seven seniors who gave their all for the program, and they will be remembered forever," he continued. "Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our journey along the way as well.
"We have a great community surrounding us. We will take some time here to decompress and start to look forward to next season," he added.
