The visiting Ada volleyball team started strong but lost in four tough sets at Perry Tuesday evening, August 31.

The Lady Bulldogs won the opening game yet lost the non-league bout 25-27, 25-19, 25-22, 25-14.

Ada dropped to 1-5 overall with the defeat. The Commodores improved to 3-2 after the win.

Junior Courtney Sumner hustled up 23 digs, hit eight kills, served five aces and added two blocks to lead Ada. 

Sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out 26 assists and came up with 14 digs. Junior Emilee Huffer knocked down seven kills and added a block. Senior Selena Jordan contributed six kills and one block.

The homestanding Ada volleyball team dropped a three-set match to unbeaten non-league foe Ben Logan Monday evening.

The always-tough BL squad defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-14, 25-9, 25-10.     

Ada dropped to 1-4 overall and 1-3 at home with the loss. Meanwhile, BL improved to 5-0 after the win.

"I thought our defense did a really nice job," said Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "They have some good servers, and they had some runs on our serve reception.

"Ben Logan is always good, they have a couple of nice hitters," she continued. "I thought we played hard and fought the whole game."

Ada competed in a four-team Northwest Conference golf match Monday evening at Colonial Hills Golf Course.

Lincolnview edged Allen East, 167-169. Ada took third at 214 strokes, with Spencerville a distant fourth at 252.

Sophomore Jack Baumgartner paced Ada with a nine-hole round of 52. Senior Dexter Woods III shot 53, junior Geddes Klingler fired a 54 and senior Andrew Rush carded a 55 to round out the Bulldog scorers.

Senior Kamron Wilkerson registered a 68, and freshman Wyatt Ferguson added a 79.

The Bullogs (4-12) play a league tri-match at Moose Landing Country Club Tuesday, hosted by Columbus Grove.

The visiting Ada boys soccer team whipped Old Fort 8-1 Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-0-1 with the lopsided victory over the Stockaders.

Carter Conley tallied a career-high three goals to pace the Ada offense.

Isaac Williams and Logan Jolliff each scored a pair of goals. Nathan Williams netted a goal and passed out one assist.

Drew Long dished out a pair of assists. Brendan Jamison and Dillon Hartman each doled out one assist.

Colton Long made six saves in goal.

Ada plays at local rival Allen East Monday, August 30 in the NWC opener.
