Andre Gilbert, MD, at Blanchard Valley Urology Associates received his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from the University of Toledo in August of 2017.
Dr. Gilbert shared, “I began law school in an effort to challenge myself while learning about a new profession, but I am committed to my first calling and will continue to provide exceptional care to patients requiring urological services.”
Ohio Northern University music departments presents a concert of percussion and steel drums next week. The concert is at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Snyder Recital Hall.
The Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law at Ohio Northern has been awarded an extension to the original Kosovo Law Faculty Instructional Development Program grant.
This U.S. State Department extension provides $428,660 to be used for scholarships for junior faculty from Kosovo law faculties to enroll in the LL.M. in Democratic Governance and Rule of Law and Legal Pedagogy Certificate programs for 2017-18.
The program is under the direction of Prof. Howard Fenton, director of the Center, and Prof. Brian Anderson, assistant director of the LL.M. program.

The local Salvation Unit will be at Reichert's Clothing on Dec. 2 and 9 and at Community Market on Dec. 16 and 23 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. those Saturdays.

A $36,000 Ohio Means Internships and Co-ops (OMIC) award from the Ohio Department of Higher Education supports ONU business and engineering students by covering costs related to the experiential activities allowing for more student participation.
This is the third time ONU has participated in the OMIC program. Matthew Lambdin, director of experiential leaning in the business college; Laurie Laird, director of corporate and alumni relations in the engineering college; and Dean Kales, KEEN industry liaison in the engineering college, are the ONU project directors on this award.
Cheryl “Cheri” L. Mason, a 1986 political science graduate at ONU, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as chair of the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA) within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The appointment is a six-year term. She is the first woman and the first military spouse to serve as the chair of the BVA.
At Northern, she served an LBJ intern for U.S. Rep. Bob McEwen of Ohio. She earned the Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
