A $25,000 gift from the Northwestern Ohio Pharmacist Association endowed an ONU scholarship for pharmacy students from northwestern Ohio. Association President Bob Beat and officers Dawn Davis and Melanie Dyer, presented the check to President Dan DiBiasio and Dean Steve J. Martin as a part of ONU's Founders Day celebration

The following students from Ada, USV, and Hardin Northern were named to the Dean’s List for fall semester 2016-17 at Ohio Northern University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time.

BEREA -- The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-1 decision at league-leading Baldwin Wallace on Friday afternoon at Finnie Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 3-10 overall and are 2-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 11-2, 6-0.

MASON -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept all nine courts and wrapped up its play in the OAC Tennis Fest with a 9-0 victory over Marietta on Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 17-4 overall and are 4-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Pioneers fall to 1-16, 1-5.

Ada's own Mackenzie Wills  won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Mackenzie, a freshman, and Catherine Curry won doubles 8-0.

NEW CONCORD -- Junior Kirsten Lightel(Tallmadge) and sophomore Kaitlin Surdej(Lancaster/Central) each threw shutouts to lead the Ohio Northern softball team to a 6-0, 3-0 sweep at Muskingum on Friday afternoon at Newberry Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 22-8 overall and are 8-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Muskies fall to 12-20, 4-8.

ONU also clinched its fourth consecutive winning season with the victories

MASON -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team swept Muskingum and Marietta by 9-0 scores on the second and final day of the OAC Tennis Fest on Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears are 10-7 overall and 2-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
