CORRECTION: The parade route is from Ada High School down Montford St.
On Saturday, September 17, downtown Ada will forget about business as usual and celebrate the 36th annual Harvest & Herb Festival. This year, 140 different vendors with 160 booths will line Main Street from Quest Federal Credit Union to Ohio Northern University.
If you are accustomed to parking on Main Street in the wee hours of the morning, note that it will close at 6:00 a.m. and cars may be towed if left in the festival area.
Coordinated by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, the event begins at 9 a.m. and includes:
The Ada Public Library makes it easy to see what's new in the book collection. Walk in the door and this display greets you. September is Library Card Sign Up month and a card is all you need to bring home one of these beauties.
The Ada Exempted Village Schools, 725 West North Ave., will hold the September Board of Education Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19 in the board meeting room.
Board members are Dr. Amy Mullins, President; Matt Gossman; Ronald Fleming; Steve Ramey and Ted Griffith.
Ohio Northern University assembled the following assessment of the latest college rankings, noting that the university "remained high on the latest lists, which again emphasized features such as the institution’s excellent academic offerings, noteworthy job placement rates and favorable viewpoints about campus culture."
The Ada High School girls soccer team lost to visiting Crestview 4-1 Monday, September 12, in their Northwest Conference opener under the lights amid a light rain at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 4-2 this season overall and 0-1 in NWC action with the defeat. The Knight girls improved to 3-4 and 1-1 in league play with the victory.
"A lot of miscues led to this result," said first-year Ada head coach Doug Dewese. "Our play was good and the girls were doing things we had been working on in practice, so I can't complain that the effort wasn't there.
"The girls played hard and made three mistakes which led to three goals," he explained. "You just can't dig a 3-1 hole at halftime and expect to come out of it."
