Ada's latest news

'Tis the season. Ada High School's first football scrimmage was Tuesday at Leipsic. It was shortened slightly because of heat and humidity. Here are some photos of the scrimmage by Carl Wilkerson.

The band,  Mustang Sally, from Nashville, Tenn., will perform from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Farmers and Merchants Picnic on Friday at what is known as the Back 40. Look for a large, white tent on the north east side of War Memorial Park to find the performance site. Gates open at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 (kids under 12 free). For more about the band, check out Mustang Sally Band on Google.

FROM THE BLUFFTON ICON - If there's such thing as a parallel universe, this photo is proof.

Last week the Icon owners spent a couple hours in Bluffton, South Carolina, while on a vacation in the south.

"We tried to be normal tourists, but when we came upon a Bluffton police cruiser and two officers, we let our secret out," said Fred Steiner. "This photo was too good to pass up."

As you might expect, with a Bluffton, Ohio, a Bluffton, Indiana, and a Bluffton, South Carolina, sometimes things get confusing.

Working on the railroad, all the live long day...when it's 90 degrees out, and your job is welding rail lines in Ada, you carry your own shade with you. In this case, a large orange umbrella does just fine. (Jerry Maag photo)
