Ada's latest news

Santa makes several stops in Ada in December. Here's his schedule:

Look for Santa at:
• ReStore from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, Dec. 4. Children are invited to "shop" for family members, but in this case the "shopping" is free. A child may select a free gift for each person in his/her family. And, the packages will be wrapped at no charge.

• The Inn at Ohio Northern University from 9 to 11 am on Saturday, Dec. 5. Complimentary photos with Santa will be taken. Breakfast is $11.50 for adults, $6.50 for children, 3 and under free.

There's a silent auction going on in Ada and you'd better check it out. The Ada Public LIbrary offers lots of items that the highest bidder will take home soon.

Eight Ada locations are on this year’s Keep Hardin County Beautiful Candy Cane Tour of Homes. Tickets are available at New Leaf, Ada.

This year’s tour is from noon to 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, and pre-sale tickets are on sale in Ada at New Leaf Garden Center and from Don Traxler, a commission member of Keep Hardin County Beautiful.

Who is "she" we are talking about?

We are referring to Raegan Cox, the 11-year-old daughter of Heather and Craig Cox. Heather is an assistant vice president of Liberty National Bank in Ada, and Craig manages a Lima Save-A-Lot. The family lives in Miller City where Raegan is a sixth grader.

We asked Heather to write a few words about their experience at Cobo Hall in Detroit when Raegan was invited to audition for a popular NBC TV show.

Heather wrote:
"Raegan left for America’s Got Talent Detroit auditions at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
