Christmas Outreach, Merry on Main reviewed at chamber meeting
The December meeting of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce was held at Beatitudes on December 15. Meeting business included:
Member feedback on the December 4 Merry on Main event:
- Century 21 decorated the caboose where Santa met with children
- 20 dozen cookies were distributed to visitors
- Mini train rides a had a nearly constant stream of riders
- Mercantile on Main had their biggest sales day of the year
- Dr. Bates brought ONU band students to perform
Brian Clum reported that 13 businesses and organizations supported an Ada Christmas Outreach program that provided assistance to disadvantaged families. Twenty-five families were referred to organizers and fifteen attended an event at Buckeye East, 123 E. Buckeye. One thousand pounds of food was distributed as well as gifts for children. Order forms for coats, hats and gloves were filled out. Sponsors included:
