In September 1988, the Swedish rock duo Roxette released their second album Look Sharp! which contained the single “Listen to Your Heart.” The song hit number 1 in the United States and Canada.  The duo of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle are the second most successful Swedish band after ABBA.

King-size prize: Raffle tickets on sale for America 250 quilt made by BSAQ

On the first Monday of August, some 20 quilters gathered at the Bluffton Senior Center for show and tell, a "Quilting on the Edge" demonstration and snacks.

The Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters meet 10 out of 12 months to share their love of fabrics, design and creativity. This month, members displayed results from a three-crayon challenge: make a quilt (small or large) using random colors drawn from a bag of crayons.

FINDLAY __The improved Ada High School boys golf team finished a strong second in the first Blanchard Valley Conference Shootout tournament at the Findlay Country Club on Monday, August 3.

The Bulldog linksters shot 379 to finish behind only BVC team champion Van Buren, which posted a 326 total. The powerhouse Black Knights boasted four of the top six individual scorers in the tourney.

Ada nosed out Elmwood (382) by three strokes to secure second place.
