John Dearth worked for the Village of Ada
John N. Dearth, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on September 1, 1945, in Lima, Ohio to the late Jasper Earl and Aezelda B. (Robnolte) Dearth. On February 18, 1966, John married Anita L. Long and she survives in Ada.
Also surviving are two children: Tim (Elena) Dearth of Ada and Jennifer (Mark) Bartley of Findlay; four grandchildren: Evan (Danielle) Dearth, Haley Dearth, Hattie Dearth and Tyler Bartley; a brother, Tom (Janice) Dearth of Ada; two sisters: Kate Bear of Lima and Esther (John) Penhorwood of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Russell, Don, Justin “Jud” and Gerald “Jerry” Dearth; and four sisters: Dorothy Kramer, Eilene Padgett, LaDonna Greer and Janet Gault.
John retired from the Village of Ada. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod. He was a member of the U. S. Army National Guard. John served and was a former chief of the Ada Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio with Pastor Chris Ewing officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with graveside military honors conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
