Mary Ann Stair graduated from McGuffey High School
Mary Ann Stair, age 83, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the comfort of her home.
She was born on June 24, 1938, in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Silas and Callie (Hites) VanSky. On February 12, 1960, Mary Ann married Larry C. Stair and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1992.
Mary Ann is survived by her two children: Steve Stair of Dola and Melissa (Marlon) Gossard of Ada; three grandchildren: Madisyn Gossard, Sidney Gossard, and Carson Gossard; two sister-in-laws: Mary Lou Plott and Winifred VanSky; five nieces: Jeanette Karcher, Pam Graffice, Deb Findish, Becky Kaiser, and Lisa Lehky; eight nephews: Terry VanSky, Mike VanSky, Tim VanSky, Todd VanSky, Jeff VanSky, Randy VanSky, Rodney VanSky and Mark Stair; and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Bud VanSky and Thomas VanSky; and two sisters Louise VanSky and Luella Bostleman.
Mary Ann graduated from McGuffey High School in 1957. She was a member of the Dola First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Larry and she lived in Dola on the family farm where they raised their two children. She enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing with Larry, and going on vacations to Canada. Her favorite activities always included being surrounded by her family. She especially enjoyed watching her three grandchildren grow up and supporting them in all their activities. Mary Ann was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2567 County Road 113, Dola, Ohio 45835 with Rev. Patrick Allen and Pastor Tom Gossel officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
