Early November brings election day, but in Ada, it first brings the annual Town and Gown Banquet.

The 49th annual banquet is Monday, Nov. 3, with a reception in the activities room in McIntosh Center beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner in the McIntosh Center’s Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15.

County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod, will hold a dedication and homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 12, according to Tom Dearth, senior pastor.

The day includes a 10:30 a.m. combination morning service and dedication service for the congregation’s new Multi-purpose Building.

Immediately following is a carry-in dinner held in the Multi-purpose Building. Meat, drinks and table service will be provided.

The events of the day are open to the public.

Ralph J. Harris, 88, died on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at 11:24 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

He was born on June 11, 1926, in Woodville, Ohio, to James Harvey and Julia M. (Bird) Harris and they preceded him in death. On Aug. 15, 1950 he married D. Elaine McGillvary and she died on Jan. 12, 1981. He later married Anna M. Stubbs on Feb. 25, 1984 and she survives in Lakeview.
