The Ohio Northern University gallery program opens its 2013-14 art exhibition and gallery season at the Elzay Gallery of Art with “I Dream of All Things: Photographs by Emily Jay.” The exhibit runs from Sept. 2 to Oct. 10.
Jay’s exhibit explores the relationship between promise, breaking and beauty. It is a photographic exploration of slipping into and out of dreams, as they come to be and as they come to fall apart. Jay’s latest work uses painting, photography and installation as she attempts to catalog remnants of aesthetic experience encountered in the mundane.
That sound resonated throughout Main Street Ada at 10:40 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, marking the successful lifting and placement of a 18,000-pound steeple (9 tons) atop the Ada First United Methodist Church.
LOTS OF PHOTOS AND VIDEOS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.
An appreciative crowd of over 200 persons talked, hugged, photographed, took videos and walked away knowing they’d remember today for a long, long time.
One person said it might be the event of the century in Ada.
The Village has received notice that AEP will have contractors in the Village in three to six weeks to work on clearing tree limbs from utility lines.
For this year’s work, trees that AEP contractors have marked with a yellow dot indicate tree trimming and trees marked with a red X indicate removal. The contractor will leave the wood for your use.
Utility line clearing is an important and necessary aspect for utility companies. By reducing the number of risks to electrical lines, utility companies can reduce the number of power outages.
The United Methodist Women of the Ada First United Methodist Church have again made a quilt for the Ada Harvest and Herb Fest. Tickets for a raffle are available from members of the United Methodist Women and the church office. The quilt, “Winter’s Tale,” was designed by Cathy Smalley.
