It’s homecoming week at Ada High School and on Friday evening a 2014 king and queen will be crowned in a pre-game ceremony prior to the Delphos Jefferson football game.

King candidates
Cort Everhart, son of Keith and Tammy Everhart.
He is the FFA president, senior class vice president, student council vice president, Foreign Language Club member, Aspirations team member, National Honor Society member, baseball letter winner and a scholar athlete.

From Monday, October 27th - Saturday, November 8th the Ada Public Library will be collecting donation of non-perishable food items to help stock up the Ada Food Pantry.

Sidney Faine, Ada junior, was named to the first team all-Northwest Conference girls's soccer team. Rielyn Castle, sophomore, was named to the second team. Kaitlyn Long, sophomore, and Grade Nelson, sophomore, were named honorable mention.

Allen East sophomore Leah Casey was voted the 2014 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year. Lamar Houston (AE) was selected as "Coach of the Year" in the balloting.

Rotary District 6600 Governor Rex Engle recently honored Ada Rotarian Bill Trudeau (at left in photo) as a Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of Trudeau’s donations of over $2,000 to the Rotary Foundation. The award is named in honor of Harris, who founded Rotary in 1905. 

Engle made the presentation during his recent visit to Ada’s Rotary Club, which meets each Tuesday at The Inn at Ohio Northern University.

Ada's Lindsay Walden, senior, and Melinda Woods, freshman, were named to the first team, all-Northwest Conference in volleyball. Named to the second team were Carlee Marshall, junior, and Tori Wyss, senior. Megan Simon, junior, was named honorable mention.

Crestview senior Courtney Trigg was voted the 2014 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year.” Trigg had also earned first team honors in last year's balloting. Tammy Gregory of Crestview was voted NWC Coach of the Year by her peers.

The Cancer Cops Relay of Life Team (Hardin County Relay) is creating a bra chain and are asking for old bras of any size, shape or color, along with a $1 donation per bra.

The bras collected will be delivered to women and homeless shelters and for persons in need in Hardin and surrounding counties.

According Deb Howe of the Cancer Cops team, “The world record is 169,000 bras collected.” Persons interested in donating may contact Howe at 419-675-2462 or Tina Sams at 567-674-5907.

The deadline for collection is Friday, Dec. 12.
