Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” from April 7-10 at 7:30 p.m. Two matinee performances have been scheduled for April 9 and 10 at 2 p.m.
The Ohio Northern University Gospel Ensemble, with special guests the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church Choir of Lima and the Toledo Youth Choir, will perform its annual spring concert in the McIntosh Center Ballroom on Sunday, April 3, at 4 p.m.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The primary purpose of the ONU Gospel Ensemble is to spread the word of God through song, and its mission is “Winning souls to Christ with a melody.” The Ensemble was formed in 1987 by a group of African-American students who wanted to share their heritage through gospel music.
David L. “Dusty” Klingler, 54, died on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 9:32 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
Dusty was born on April 16, 1961, in Lima, Ohio, to Kenneth L. and Janet E. (Jones) Klingler and they survive in Ada.
Dusty worked at the Ohio Department of Transportation and retired after 20 years. He was a 1979 graduate of Ada High School. Dusty was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada. He was a sport pilot and flew out of Van Wert and Allen County Airports.
ONU hosted the two-day Junior Olympic volleyball Ohio Valley regional tournament last weekend. Thirty-two teams competed at the Sports Center. Brian Hofman, long-time ONU assistant volleyball coach, has directed the tourney here for 21 years. The competition draws several hundred players and many parents to campus each March.
