Approximately 650 sophomores in Apollo Career Center’s 11-member district will be visiting Apollo during 411Blast, Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.
Parents of sophomore students interested in attending Apollo for the 2016-17 school year are also invited to meet their student at Apollo.
This day is designed to expose students to career possibilities, and what paths are available that may lead to their career and/or college success.
Students choose two programs of interest and then spend one-half day visiting those labs, meeting the instructors and participating in fun, interactive demos and activities.
Join Mustard Seed Cafe, North Main Street, Bluffton, Friday, Dec. 18, from 9-11 p.m., for an “After Hours” holiday evening of half shells and hops.
Chesapeake oysters with craft beer pairings and craft flights are on the menu. Also featured are blue point oysters for the weekend.
"After Hours" takes place Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9-11 p.m. It features songs about wassail, wise men, and all the holy trees of the season.
Wendy Chappell-Dick will be joined by some of her friends: Wanda Stopher, Teri Sato on bowed psaltry, Steve Harnish on recorder, Sara Chappell-Dick on flute and Jan Wiebe on flute and vocal harmony. Wendy will also play cello and dulcimer.

The recognition keeps coming for Ada High School grad and University of Dayton senior Christopher Beaschler.
This week, Beaschler, a senior linebacker on the Flyers football team, has been named a CoSIDA First Team Division Academic All-American.
Beaschler carries a 3.68 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. He is one of just two players who were named First Team All-PFL and First Team Academic All-PFL in both 2014 and 2015.
When the Icon dropped in on the Ready, Set, Grow Preschool recently it was story time. By the attention drawn by the story from these students, it must have been a very interesting story.
