Carol Jean Goins worked for Wilson Sporting Goods

Carol Jean Goins, age 81, of Alger, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence in the presence of her loving family on January 6, 2022.

She was born in Lima, Ohio on December 22, 1940, to the late Robert Schindler and Willa Doralee (Dehner) Bowers.  She married Joel G. Goins on February 18, 1970, and he survives in Alger.

Also surviving are her children:  Joeline (Scott) Ribley of Dunkirk, Michelle Y. (Dan) Rose of Coldwater and Michael G. Goins of Alger.  Grandchildren include: Aaron (Katie) Ribley of Oakmont, PA, Devan (Amanda) Ribley of Forest, Preston Ribley of Dunkirk, Lauren Rose (Kyle Harding) of AZ, Julia (Jared) Shields of Columbus, Madison (Matias) Malkamaki of Columbus, Diana Rose of Coldwater and Michaela Goins of Richwood.  Great grandchildren include: Hope, Maddox and Hazel Ribley of Forest.  Surviving siblings include a sister, Alice Freytag of Elida and a brother, Ronald (Sheila) Schindler of Lima.

Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Schindler, and Robin Schindler and two sisters, Shirley Tucker and Mary Bowers and a sister-in-law Nancy Schindler.

Carol retired from Wilson Sporting Goods in Ada, Ohio.  She also worked at Allen’s Bar and Grill, the OK factory, Spykers Restaurant, in the cafeteria at Ford Motor Company and many other odd jobs.  She loved to bowl and work crossword puzzles but her favorite pastime was playing Bingo every Thursday night in Ada.  Most recently she loved looking things up on her iPad.

At the request of Carol to be cremated, there will not be any services.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Hospice, Lima and/or the American Cancer Society.
