Leonard Wright Jr. served in the Korean War
Leonard P. Wright, Jr, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on February 13, 1930, in Alger, Ohio to the late Leonard Pearl and Marjorie (Cochran) Wright, Sr.
Leonard retired from McCurdy’s Steel Products after working for twenty-four years. He previously worked at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and a member of the American Legion Post #185 of Ada.
He is survived by his three stepdaughters: Darlene Anspach of Florida, Judy Rodeback of Wapakoneta and Paula (Ron) Wingfield of Lima; seven step grandchildren and one step great grandson; a sister, Joan Ansler of Dola; and a half-brother, Howard Alan Wright of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Merle Wright and half-brother, Michael Tarr.
There will be no service or visitation. It was Leonard’s wish to be cremated. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ada VFW Post #9381.
