Sign-ups underway - details in this story

Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses and residents for its sixth annual Ada Community Engagement (ACE) Day to be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, according to Jacob Isaacson, ONU coordinator of student activities.

Bid opening June 28; project completion deadline Oct, 31

The village of Ada is accepting bids for its 2019 street projects, according to Jami Hall, village administrator.

Bids are due at noon, Friday, June 28, and will be opened at that time in the village municipal building. The village has placed an Oct. 31, 2019, deadline on all projects

This year’s projects include:

Alleys – mill and compact
• North Johnson to North Simon between East Buckeye and East Highland
• East Highland to East Montford between Johnson and Simon

VBS held next week June 24 to 28

First United Methodist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 24-28, from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening.

The VBS theme is “To Mars and Beyond,” and features galaxy voyagers journeying from their galactic outpost on a special mission to collect power sources.

Along the way VBSers will learn how God walked with heroes of the Bible and that God is always with them, too. The VBS features a daily appearance of the real robot “Captain 2Beyond.”

The Tuesday, June 18, Ada council meeting takes place at Vancrest Assisted Living, 600 W. North St., according to the village.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. immediately following a building and grounds committee meeting.

In addition to several committee reports, council will act on the third reading of an ordinance that recodifies certain ordinances in the codified ordinances of the village.

Recent graduates Mitchell Frisby and Daniel Musci

Ohio Northern University presented Dankook Awards to graduating students Mitchell Frisby and Daniel Musci during recent commencement ceremonies.

Frisby, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in marketing, is from Wadsworth, Ohio, and graduated from Wadsworth Senior High School.

Musci, who earned a bachleor’s degree in electrical engineering, is from North Ridgeville, Ohio, and graduated from North Ridgeville High School.
