Bulldog grappler Vieira 2nd in class at NWC championships
The youthful Ada wrestling team competed at the Northwest Conference championship meet hosted by Bluffton Friday evening. Featuring six freshmen wrestlers, the Bulldogs finished eighth at the eight-team event.
Defending champion Allen East repeated again as champions, with Spencerville second and Columbus Grove third.
Ada freshman Liam Vieira went 3-1 at at 120 lbs. with two pins to finish second in his weight class.
Freshman Aedyn Beckwith registered a 2-2 record with one pin at 126 lbs. to finish third.
Freshman Rowan West posted a 3-2 record with two pins to come in third in the 134 lbs. bracket.
Freshman Colton Cole took sixth in the 165 lbs. class.
Ada freshman Landon Simon came in seventh in the 175 lbs. division. Freshman Trevor McGue also came in seventh at 138 lbs.
