Rotator cuff injuries are a common cause of shoulder pain and dysfunction, often affecting individuals who engage in repetitive overhead movements or experience age-related degeneration. Tears can also commonly occur after a fall on an upper extremity or while manipulating a heavy or awkward object. Whether the injury occurs due to trauma, overuse, or natural wear and tear, a torn rotator cuff can significantly impact mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. While some minor injuries may be managed through physical therapy and lifestyle modifications, surgical repair substantially benefits those with more severe tears. Restoring function, reducing pain, and improving long-term joint health are key advantages of rotator cuff repair.
