Norman Thompson was a U.S. Army Veteran
Norman Ray Thompson, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 7:13 PM at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on August 15, 1942, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Lewis Raymond and Delora (Winget) Thompson. On May 14, 1997, Norman married Gloria J. Conrad and she preceded him in death on August 13, 2003.
Norman is survived by his two children: Randy (Laura) Thompson of Pataskala and Kristina Allen of Bellefontaine; a grandson, Hunter Allen; a brother, Richard (Rita) Thompson of Ottawa; and a sister, Norleen (Gene) Neinberg of Pandora.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Edward, Louis, and Kenneth Thompson.
Norman retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. Norman was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Mike Meeker officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Bluffton with military honors conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 and the U.S. Army Honor Guards.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14 at the funeral home in Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
