The follow report includes some action from the school’s May 29 Staff Notes, and is not officially approved board minutes.
Ada High School instrumental music teacher, Dr. Jonathan Lischak, announced his resignation from teaching. The action was accepted by the Ada school board in a special meeting on May 29.
In other action at the meeting, the board approved an agreement between the board and the Ada Education Association. The agreement covers three years from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.
The board also accepted the resignation of Doug Miller, custodian.
The local Upper Scioto Valley EMS will be coming to Alger Public Library on Monday, June 3 at 2 p.m. for members of the public to meet the hometown Emergency Medical Team (EMT). As part of this program, the squad offers a tour of their ambulance.
This program is open to the public, and children are especially invited. The library is located at 100 W. Wagner St., Alger.
A $10,000 grant from Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative to the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance (HCCBA) will help Hardin County villages and the City of Kenton participate in strategic planning sessions.
"I'm excited because the plan for this grant allows us to make the biggest impact we can make for the entire county," said Jacqualine Fitzgerald, HCCBA's Director of Economic & Community Development.
The Armes Family Cancer Care Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will offer a community screening and wellness day event on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Several health screenings will be offered at this event, which will take place at The Armes Family Cancer Care Center located at 15990 Medical Drive South in Findlay.
Skin, head and neck cancer screenings will be available by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling 419.429.6428.
Screenings available by walk-in include breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, bone density, hereditary cancer risk assessment, and general wellness including glucose and blood pressure checks.
Ohio Northern University celebrates its alumni weekend May 31 to June 2. Here's the schedule of events.
The Class of 1969 will have a special celebration dinner on Friday, May 31, for their 50th Class Year Reunion. All other classes celebrating 55, 60, 65 and 70 years will also have celebrations at the reception before the Alumni Association Luncheon on Saturday, June 1.
