BOWLING GREEN - Three members of the Ada tennis team competed at the Div. II district tournament Thursday in Bowling Green.
The top four placers at district qualify for the Div. II state meet in Mason next weekend. Play was single elimination in the first two rounds.
Ada's Isaac Spar entered the 16-player field as one of the top four seeds after winning the Lima sectional at UNOH.
Spar played junior Stephane Granato of Maumee Valley in the first round Thursday at BGSU. Spar won the first set 6-0, but then Granato rallied to take the last two sets 6-3, 6-2.

KEMPTEN, GERMANY — Sophomore Cameron Hollander (Mariemont) drilled a 40-yard field goal with 2:48 left in the game to lead the Ohio Northern football team to a 9-7 exhibition victory over the Allgau Comets on Sunday afternoon at Illerstadion.
The Comets, who play in the top level of the German Football League, took a 7-0 lead with 5-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the first half by Calvin Stitt to cap a 7-play, 76-yard drive.
Play was suspended for 58 minutes after a thunderstorm rolled into the area less than a minute into the third quarter.
Ada's spring follies kept the crowd entertained on Friday evening. This year's theme "Kings and Queens" featured music from the past to the present. Graduating senior choir members were recognized. Tuesday's Ada council meeting's location is at Vancrest Assisted Living, 600 W. North Ave., according to Angela Polachek, village administrative assistant.
The meeting take splace at 6:30 p.m. Staff will be on hand to direct visitors to the designated meetign place.
The Ada Lions Club awarded academic scholarships to five members of the Ada High School graduating class of 2019 at the annual Senior Awards Honor Dinner on May in the Ada schools cafeteria.
Ada Lions Club Scholarship Chair Robert C. Simmons presented the scholarships to: Anabel Alexander-$1,000, Miguel Jordan-$1,000, Brendan Sheridan-$1,000, Keli Trudeau-$1,000, and Austin Amburgey received the Dick Counts memorial scholarship (in honor of long time Lions member who lost his life this year) $1,500.
The $5,500 of scholarships brought the total for the Lions Club since 2000 to 91 students being awarded $81,450.
