Beatitudes community center is partnering with ONU’s HealthWise Pharmacy to offer blood pressure checks to patrons tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 7, between 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

These checks are part of a partnership offering free health screenings to residents in the community, according to Deb Curlis of Beatitudes, and Dr. Clay Miller of HealthWise.

The screenings will be every Friday at Beatitudes through May, between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The partnership will also provide free vitamins to participants.

Ada schools are cancelled for today, Thursday, Feb. 6. The announcement was made on Ohio Alerts earlier this morning.

41 permits filed, down from 56 filed in 2018

Ada’s 2019 zoning permits totaled an estimated value of $727,631, according to the summary presented to Ada council on Feb. 4 by Michael Harnishfeger, zoning inspector.

Last year saw 41 permits issued, down from 56 in 2018. The report reveals two new single-family homes constructed and several residential additions in 2019.

“The greatest requests for permits dealt with fences and sheds,” said Harnishfeger. “And, in 2019 we had progress on the First United Methodist Church parking lot with the demolition of two neighborhood house.”

Ada Rotary Club held its 6th annual Super Bowl battle of Ada businesses and organizations at Norada Lanes on Feb. 4.

This year’s battle was dedicated to the memory of Kevin Mierzejewski, Rotary member who helped launch the annual community fundraiser.

Bowling was from 6 to 10 p.m.. Eight teams competed. Throughout the evening 50/50 raffle tickets were drawn with individual prizes given.
