The Ohio Northern men's tennis team will begin its spring schedule indoors with five matches in February under second-year head coach Mike Bonnell.
The Polar Bears will travel to Albion, Mich., on Feb. 10 for matches with Albion and Olivet (Mich.)
On Feb. 17, ONU will play road matches at both Franciscan and Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) before returning home to face Penn State-Behrend on Feb. 25 at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center in Lima.
Ohio Northern will then travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C., for its annual spring break trip March 3-11.
Patricia A. Shellabarger, age 89, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:05 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on October 22, 1928 in Woodland, West Virginia to the late Lloyd and Blanche (Heslep) Yoho. On September 13, 1958 Patricia married Fredric A. Shellabarger and he survives in Ada.
Patricia was a homemaker. She was a member of the West Milton United Church of Christ.

The Ada Public Library will be closed for a week and a half starting Wednesday, Jan. 10, because the library is undergoing a major renovation and addition. The library will reopen at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22.
During the closing work will be done on the ceiling and renovations in the main part of the library, taking advantage of being closed for Martin Luther King Day and a staff inservice day. A new front desk will also be built during the closing.
Steven D. Robirds, age 64, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on January 10, 1953 in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Earnest Edward and Ressie (Dyer) Robirds. On April 16, 1971 he married Cathy D. Simon and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2014.
Steven worked as a maintenance supervisor at Steel Technologies of Ottawa. He was a member of the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger. He was a 1970 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1972 to 1978.

Ada police seek assistance from Ada residents concerning a robbery late in the evening of Jan. 3 at 302 Carryout.

SAFER (Seeking Aid From Every Resident) ALERT
On Jan. 3, at approximately 11:30 p.m., an unknown white male wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark colored sweat pants robbed the 302 Carryout in Ada, of an undisclosed amount of money.
The subject is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches in height, heavy build and brown facial hair. The subject did not brandish a weapon.
