ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team finished the 2017 season ranked No. 19 in the season-ending American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
The Polar Bears were 29-6 overall, 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference.
Ohio Northern won twice in the NCAA III Tournament Regionals before falling to eventual national runner-up Wittenberg in the Regional finals to end its season.
DEFIANCE — Senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) posted her 22nd career double-double to lead the No. 7-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 69-49 victory at Defiance Tuesday evening at the Weaner Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-1, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-3.
Bullimore finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds and senior Lindsey Black(Urbana/Graham) added 12 points for ONU.

Pet rocks are passé.
The trend now is painted rocks.
I found one in the landscaping of a church in Ada on Friday afternoon. It made my day.
As editor/reporter/photographer of the Ada Icon, it's my duty to keep an eye out for news, even underfoot. So, there it was, staring up at me with blue and gold lettering:
"FL 2017."
I picked it up, of course and have done a little Facebook research on painted rocks.
