4-H Report: Boots and Buckles on April 11

Meeting was called to order by President Chloe Anderson. Club said the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. 

We had a guest speaker Gary Saylor, Auctioneer, who told us about going to auctioneer school and what it takes to be an auctioneer. He also gave us tips on how to be an auctioneer. He held a small auction for us with bidding numbers and fake money. The group had a great time and thanked him for coming and speaking with us. 

Next was roll call with answering “What is your favorite fast food restaurant?” 

Then the minutes from the last meeting were read by secretary Josie Schwemer. Treasurer’s report was then given by treasure Issac Anderson.

New business: The club is going axe throwing on Monday April 18, 2022 at 7 p.m. $10 fee plus club dues were due Monday night to participate. 

Demonstrations were then given: Josie Schwemer demonstrated the parts of a guitar, Callie Burgess demonstrated how to find the circumference of a cylinder, Emma Arver demonstrated how to free hand draw flowers and vases, Avery Fox demonstrated how to paint a sunset, Lauren and Alex McBride demonstrated techniques of playing volleyball, Wyatt Arver demonstrated how to play different cords on the guitar, Jayden Mustain demonstrated the proper gear to wear while riding a dirt bike, ATV, ect., and Norma Jean Ansley demonstrated how to condition a leather saddle. The best demo of the night was won by Wyatt Arver. 

The club was reminded that the deadline to register for 4-H is Friday, April 15, 2022 and all books can be purchased at the extension office. 

Snacks were provided by Noah Reed and the meeting was adjourned. Next meeting is April 25, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at the Arts and Craft building at the Hardin County fairgrounds, 14134 Letson Ave.
