Bulldog baseball blanked by state-ranked Lancers
By Cort Reynolds
The Ada High School baseball team lost 10-0 to defending league champion Lincolnview in the Northwest Conference opener Thursday, April 7, on a windy, cool evening at Ada’s War Memorial Park.
Lancer hurler Dane Ebel pitched a five-inning no-hitter and slugged a three-run home run over the right-center field fence to pace the victors.
The Bulldogs fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the defeat. Defending NWC champion Lincolnview improved to 2-3 and 1-0 in league play.
The game was scheduled to be played at Lincolnview but was moved to Ada due to wet fields.
Lincolnview, ranked 16th in the state, scored its initial run in the first on an RBI groundout. Scrappy Ada stayed close within 2-0 until the Lancers broke the game open with five runs in the fourth.
They added three runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
Bulldog junior Spencer Wall was the only Ada baserunner. He walked in the second inning.
