Poetry readings to be hosted by Alger Public Library
Author and poet Jessica Weyer Bentley will visit the Alger Public Library, 100 Wagner St., Alger, on April 12 and 13 for two poetry readings. The first reading will be for adults and the second will be for children.
Bentley's first collection of poetry, Crimson Sunshine, was published in May 2020 by AlyBlue Media. She has contributed work to several publications: the award-winning book series, Grief Diaries, including poetry and prose, and Hit by a Drunk Driver. Jessica’s work has been anthologized in Women Speak Vol. 6 (Sheila-Na-Gig Editions), Summer Gallery of Shoes (Highland Park Poetry), Common Threads 2020 Edition (Ohio Poetry Association), Appalachian Witness Volume 24 (Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel) and Made and Dream (Of Rust and Glass).
She most recently accepted a position for the Ohio Poetry Association as the Student Contest Chair. Jessica currently resides in northwest Ohio.
The poetry reading for adults will be at 4:00 p.m. on April 12. Books will be available for purchase.
The children's poetry program will be at 5:00 p.m. on April 13. Bentley will teaching children about poetry and read age appropriate work. The library will also serve treats.
