Village forms 2024 eclipse task force
On April 12 the village's 2024 Solar Eclipse Task Force held its first meeting to begin planning for the total solar eclipse that will be viewable in a 124-mile wide path across Ohio. The map below shows just how close Ada will be to the line designating locations with the longest viewing length.
At the meeting, Hardin County EMA Director Jake Burgbacher gave a briefing that included general information about the eclipse itself and a status report on Hardin County plans. He noted that the status of funding is not known.
The following members were present:
● Lindsay Walden, Ada Area Chamber of Commerce
● Tom Miller, Ada-Liberty EMS
● Dan Lee, Ada Exempted Village Schools
● Michele Brunk, Village of Ada
● David Humphreys, Hardin County Astronomical Club
● Jamie Hall, Village of Ada
● Jason Broge, Ohio Northern University
● Patty Navin, Village of Ada
● Sean Beck, Village of Ada/Kenton-Hardin Health Department
Committees were formed for Finance/Policy, Infrastructure/Logistics, Public Safety and Public Relations.
