Bassitt is 1st team All-NWC softball; honors to Sizemore, Robinson, Sndyer, Southerly

SOFTBALL

Ada freshman standout Jenna Bassitt was voted first team All-Northwest Conference in softball at the league meeting by the coaches in Delphos Monday evening, May 16.

Leadoff hitter Bassitt led Ada in batting average (.519). She also topped the team in on-base percentage (.576), runs scored (19), stolen bases (15) and hits (27). She added five doubles, two triples and one home run. 

Bassitt won all five games pitching that Ada (5-14, 2-6 NWC) captured. She also led the team in strikeouts, innings pitched and complete games.

Sophomore slugger Daicy Robinson repeated as an honorable mention All-NWC pick. She hit .378 with a .394 on-base percentage despite missing several games with a sprained ankle. 

Sophomore first baseman Katie Sizemore also was chosen honorable mention all-league after batting .320 with a .423 on-base pct.

Columbus Grove's Kam Utendorf was named NWC Player of the Year.

Lincolnview mentor Eric Schwab was named NWC Coach of the Year.

Lincolnview and Crestview tied for the NWC title at 7-1. Bluffton and league newcomer Leipsic tied for third at 5-3.

BASEBALL

Ada junior pitcher/third baseman Roman Snyder was voted second team All-Northwest Conference baseball in the league meeting by the coaches Monday evening at Delphos.

Junior middle infielder Jacob Sutherly was also voted honorable mention all-league.

The Bulldogs went 6-14 overall and 1-7 in the NWC, a game ahead of rival Allen East.

Landon Price of Lincolnview was named NWC Player of the Year. His coach Eric Fishpaw was voted NWC Coach of the Year.

Lincolnview repeated as NWC champs at 8-0, followed by Crestview and Leipsic tied for second at 6-2. Spencerville ended up 5-3, while Columbus Grove and Delphos Jefferson tied for fifth at 4-4.

Snyder and Sutherly also were named honorable mention all-district Div. IV for northwest Ohio, along with teammate Max Puerto.
